3x12"

Right Moment starts with a slap. The title track, a fully formed loop of high-pressure house music, is busy and direct. Fumiya Tanaka's music often hinges on dance floor functionality, but "Right Moment" is especially physical. In title and execution, it's a tribute to the sweet spot in the creative process when all the strongest elements are locked in and the loop sounds complete—the elusive "right moment" when everything falls into place. It's arguably where the artist feels most present in making a track, before the more technical challenges of arranging, editing and mixing. For all its technical refinement (a pristine mixdown, well-paced arrangements), Tanaka sounds freer than ever throughout this record. The beats sound urgent in a way that minimal sometimes isn't. Speaking recently to RA's Midori Hayakawa, Tanaka said, "Every moment only happens once." He was referring to the growth of his young son, but you can also sense the mindful embrace of the present, an openness to possibility, throughout Right Moment. It may be the best record he's made (taken from Resident Advisor).
